NATIONAL YOUTH PARLIAMENT

This section is dedicated to the National Youth Parliament of The Gambia (NYP) , a key institutional partner of the Official Chamber of Commerce Hispano-Gambiana (COCIHG). This collaboration represents a bridge between The Gambia and Spain-EU, uniting efforts to empower the next generation of African leaders through education, vocational training, cultural exchange, and international visibility.

We believe that sustainable development is driven by youth leadership. Through this alliance, we aim to transform potential into tangible impact.

Who We Are: The National Youth Parliament

The National Youth Parliament of The Gambia serves as the premier national platform bringing together young leaders from across the country. Our mission is to promote youth participation in governance, policy dialogue, leadership development, and national development initiatives.

We are not just a voice for the youth; we are a structured institution working hand-in-hand with communities, educational bodies, and international partners to ensure that young people are active contributors to shaping the future of The Gambia.

Our Partner Foundation: Give Back Foundation Network

In parallel with our parliamentary work, we collaborate closely with the Give Back Foundation Network, a grassroots movement dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable youth, including school dropouts, by offering vocational training and creating employment opportunities.

Impact in Action:
The foundation recently concluded a successful Summer Skills Training Camp in Marakissa Village, empowering young people with practical trades. The initiative continues to enroll youths in educational programs and forge key partnerships to support vulnerable groups.

Our Shared Vision: Areas of Collaboration with COCIHG

Following an YNP official Letter ,we have established a framework for strategic collaboration with COCIHG in the following key areas:

1. Socio-Economic Development

We will develop joint initiatives to promote youth-led cooperatives, social enterprises, and community-driven economic projects. These projects aim to create sustainable livelihoods and reduce poverty by empowering young entrepreneurs with the tools they need to succeed.

2. Education and Civic Awareness

Through partnerships, we will organize educational outreach programs, policy dialogues, and mentorship platforms. We aim to enhance civic participation, leadership skills, and educational advancement, ensuring that young people understand their role in governance.

3. Professional and Vocational Training

Together, we will facilitate technical training workshops, entrepreneurship programs, and skills development camps. By focusing on employability and innovation, we prepare Gambian youth for the demands of the modern workforce.

4. Youth Empowerment and Employment

We are committed to facilitating job readiness programs, career guidance services, and private sector engagement. By connecting youth with national and international stakeholders, we will support start-ups and create pathways to dignified employment.

5. Cultural Exchange and International Dialogue

We believe in the power of culture to build bridges. We will develop youth exchange programs, leadership visits, cultural festivals, and dialogue platforms that strengthen mutual understanding, peacebuilding, and global citizenship between The Gambia and Spain-EU.

6. International Visibility and Global Partnerships

We participate in international forums, conferences, youth summits, and global networks. This will enhance the international recognition of Gambian youth initiatives, attract strategic partners, and showcase the talent and resilience of our nation.
